A lot of people get disability and disease mixed up. I need to get this straight with people, disabilities are totally different to diseases because you can't "catch" any disability. A disability is not contagious, whereas a disease might be, but not always.

Conditions like Cerebral Palsy and Autism are not contagious diseases. I am shocked because not very many people know that there is a differen...

Some people think that it's wrong to take the mick out of a person's disability, but when you are just messing around and the other person is joking with you, personally, I don't see the issue with it.

You have got to have a laugh sometimes. Me being me, I take the mick out of my own disability, for example; I have poor balance, and when I over balance, I fall over most of the time and I usually la...

Hello again, today I am going to talk about a subject that could be quite sensitive to some people. I apologise in advance if you get upset by what I am going to say in this post. This is not meant to offend anyone, I just want to say what it is like for me.

A lot of people say that they think they are "fat" or they "need to lose weight", most of the people I know are not visibly overweight but the...

I have been going to St Vincent College for three years now (it will be four this September). I enjoy going to college because it gives me something to do and I spend my break and lunch times with my friends (I'm not going to name them in case they don't want to be named).

At college I do lots of different things at college, including IGCSE English. I had to fight to be put on that course because o...

So today I went on a trip with my LSAs, after coming back from Portsmouth on the Gosport ferry, I went into a couple of shops and then I went to the Gosport NatWest branch to take some money out of my account. When I asked the lady who was serving me if I could take some money out, she said that I had to put my PIN in myself so one of my LSAs helped me guide my hand. While I was trying to put my P...

I have always had and always will have some kind of challenges throughout my life but one challenge I have recently discovered is anxiety. I didn't used to have anxiety but I have now, it is annoying when I have panic attacks because I find it difficult to breath sometimes and I feel embarrassed afterwards.

Different things set my panic attacks off, such as big changes because I can't cope very wel...

How would you feel if others ignored you?

A lot of people don't talk to me directly but talk to my carer instead. I have a couple of ideas about why they may do this, it is either because they think they may say something wrong, I might not understand what they are saying to me, or that when I reply, they will not understand what I am saying. So rather than taking the time to listen and try to unde...

Hi everyone,

As I love music so much, I thought I'd write about it in my blog.

I find that music helps me a lot because whenever I am feeling low, I can put music on and I feel like I can escape to another world. Over the last couple of weeks, I have been very stressed and I've felt like I have had panic attacks. When I got home from college, I put my music or the radio on, I listen the radio statio...

Hello everyone, welcome to my new blog! My name is Ailsa and I live with Cerebral Palsy, I wouldn't say that my disability is that severe because I can do a lot of things and there are people who are worse off than me. Here's one thing that I can do: I can use my feet to operate my computer, I can do this quite easily.

My type of Cerebral Palsy is called Quadriplegic (affects all four limbs) Atheto...
