Presentation Is Key

Hi all, how are you? Today I would like to talk about how important presentation is, and how it affects a blog or website. You may not realise this, but how you lay out your site can effect how successful your blog or business will turn out. Throughout these last three years of my blogging experience, I have seen some wonderful blogs that are beautifully designed, and others that are not so good. When designing your blog, you should think about the purpose, style and how easy it is to read and navigate around for your visitors.
Now, a good site has to be simple, but not so simple that it's boring - you want your visitors to keep looking through your site and you want them to come back, don't you? You want to attract people in a way that is memorable, but doesn't make them think it's awful... Depending on your host (Wix is my host), you should have the option to customise your site, but different hosts allow different levels of customisation. This is why Wix is so good to use as a host, as you can do almost anything to customise your site to make it personal to you and to what you are using it for.
Colour and contrast are important things to think about. Don't ask me why, but I find it difficult to tell which colours work well together. I'm not colour blind, but sometimes I struggle with which colours to use when, so I tend to ask for feedback on this quite a lot. My colour theme consists of red, green, yellow and black mainly, with a few other shades. I think that these colours work very well together, but other people may not agree with me. In my opinion, people's eyes tend to get drawn to bright colours, so if you want a specific item to attract people's attention more than the other elements on the page, then I think your best bet is to make the parts that you want to get noticed more bright colours. Although I have said this, if you have a light coloured page background, then it's probably not the best idea to make your page elements light coloured as well because they won't show up very well.
Another thing to think about is your website's font scheme. Which fonts you use are extremely important because you want to make it interesting, but you also want to make it readable as well so that as many people as possible can read it with little problem. Before I knew that I could change the font and how important it is to use different fonts, I just had the default font for my blog posts (this was rubbish). The default colour for the font in blog posts was like a burgundy colour, and the default background for the blog feed and the blog posts was a pale pink. In my opinion, this combination did not go well together at all, it just looked tacky...
I am open to suggestions, and nothing is too big or too small, as every detail counts, so please do get in touch if you have any ideas that could improve Brains on Wheels.
Unfortunately, we have come to the end of this blog post... Thanks for reading, and see you next time. Bye for now.
