Reading Can Be Difficult
Welcome back. Today I am going to talk about my eyes and how it can be difficult for me to read. If you have read my bio on my About page, you will know that my Cerebral Palsy affects every muscle in my body, and that includes my eyes. When I was younger, my reading was below average for a person in year four or five, I never moved up off the Oxford Reading Tree books until I was in senior school. I think this was because I couldn't read very well.
Even now, I struggle with reading, my eyes get tired quickly when I'm reading, especially when I'm reading a long piece of text. It takes a lot of effort for me to read anything over about two hundred words. Sometimes my eyes make it seam like the words are moving around on the page, or my eyes just can't focus. It takes me longer to read some things because of this. I have a yellow overlay to put on paper, my college often puts my work onto yellow paper for me, and this really helps. My reading has improved dramatically over the last year or so, it still isn't the best, but it is much better than it was.
I hope this gave you a bit more of an insight to my life.
Thanks for reading.
Bye for now.
