Awkward? Not Unless You Make It Awkward!

Hello, welcome back to my blog. Today I would like to talk about the 'awkwardness' people feel when it comes to disabilities. I put 'awkwardness' in inverted commas because I don't think having a disability is awkward really.

Strictly speaking, it only becomes awkward when people act like it's awkward, and shy away or overcompensate. You should behave exactly how you would usually because then it would be better for both people. If the person who you are talking to needs something different, then you can make exceptions, but other than that, don't.

I have even come across times when I seriously don't know what to say or where to look because someone has made me feel so awkward that I just wanted to crawl into a little hole. I won't go into details because I'm not sure if I can remember it well enough.

Thanks for reading, and I hope you have enjoyed this post.

See you next time.
