Keep Dogs Out of the Heat

As a dog owner, I get really annoyed when I see people with dogs out in the hot weather because I know how dangerous it can be for the dogs. Not only could the dog's pads on their feet get burned, the dogs could die in hot weather! I went out with my mum to the HMS Sultan Summer Show today, and I was shocked to see so many dogs there. I wish dog owners would educate themselves about how heat affects dogs.

A few months ago, I saw a photo of a dog's paws after it had been out in the heat, and it was absolutely horrible, the dog had lots of blisters and sores. It must be agonising for the dogs.

So, remember, if you are a dog owner, keep your dogs cool as much as possible. Make sure they always have access to water, don't let them stay outside for long periods of time, and DO NOT take them out for walks when it's hot! Wait until it's cooled down, in the evening when it isn't so hot to take them out.

Thanks for reading, and keep your dogs safe in hot weather.
