Para Athletics World Championships
Hello guys, I got back from London at around two o'clock Monday morning. My mum and I were in London watching the Para Athletics all weekend! This was a Christmas present from my mum and dad. The whole weekend was absolutely phenomenal, we saw Jonnie Peacock, Richard Whitehead and Hannah Cockroft... I actually met Hannah Cockroft! I never imagined that I would meet a Paralympion! It was amazing!
This area was called Hero's Village.
This is where the athletes received their medals.
The Olympic Park is massive, it didn't look that big on the telly, I knew it was big, but I didn't expect it to be *that* big!
On Saturday, the atmosphere was just breathtaking! Sunday was good as well, but I think the atmosphere was better on Saturday. When we arrived on Saturday, the Brazilian team were sat in our seats, and we had to ask them to move.
There were long jumpers (our seats were up high, and I didn't realise how long the sand pit was because it looked much shorter from where we were).
This was actually red but the photo came out pink.
When the athletes were lined up ready to start their races, some of the pistols were louder than others. I didn't know what they were at first, so I was a bit worried, but my mum told me that the louder pistols were to tell the athletes to stop because one athlete started too early, which is called a "false start". They made me jump out of my skin, so goodness only knows how the Parlympions felt like!
Words can't describe this incredible experience, and I'm not joking! I loved it!
Bye for now.
